Teaching is in my blood. I was born into a family of educators where both my mother and grandmother inspired young minds for more than 60 years collectively. It is their dedication to education which inspired me to follow in their footsteps. I went to Elmhurst College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in English. My career began 24 years ago in the field of special education then as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher in my hometown of DeKalb, Illinois where I taught for 9 years. Next, I had the pleasure of teaching remedial reading and math in Bowling Green, Kentucky to 3-6th graders. In Texas I have taught 1st, 3rd and 4th grades for the past 14 years. I am proud to be married for 32 years to Scott Kellar. Together we have one daughter who is a Baylor graduate and currently working at Miller OUtdoor Theater. I am the mother to Sophie our 5 year old cocker spaniel. There is no better thrill than to inspire young minds. It is my hope that my passion and love for teaching helps my students to achieve a true love of learning.
