Mrs. Jerrie Kammerman

In 1982 I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  Over the past 34 years I have taught math in grades 5-8 with 31 years spent working at the middle school level.  I loved teaching math and remained in the classroom for 23 years where I learned both the science and the art of teaching.  In 2005, I made the decision to become a campus administrator and began this next phase of my career as the Assistant Principal at Sugar Land Middle School.  I was named Principal of First Colony Middle School in 2009 and joined the staff of Missouri City Middle School as Principal in the spring of 2014.

Working with the staff at Missouri City Middle School we have created a positive learning environment where decisions are based on meeting the needs of our students.  At MCMS we set high expectations for ourselves and our students, and we commit ourselves to giving the extra effort necessary to achieve our goals.  MCMS implements Restorative Discipline to help our students develop capacity to problem solve and resolve conflicts in a respectful, empathetic manner.  Our campus has received recognition for the success we have had using Restorative Discipline from the Houston Chronicle, the Texas School Business Magazine, and the American School Board Journal.

Our motto at MCMS is:  Better is Possible---Success Begins Here!  I am so proud to be part of the MCMS Cougar Family and look forward to working with our community, parents and students to accomplish great things together!
