My name is Chavon Kelly. I was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Gary, IN. I have no children, unless you count my spoiled fur baby, Lucky and Chase. I am a 17 year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Nu Lambda and Gamma Psi Omega, respectively. I graduated from Indiana University with my B.S. in Mathematics and from University of Houston Victoria with my Masters of Educatoion in Counseling. While in undergrad, I was a substitute teacher in Gary Community School Corporation for three years. When the school system went on strike, I began work in the social services field. I was a Residential Coordinator for the Department of Family and Children Services and later a Residential Coordinator for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. I returned to education when I relocated to Houston in September 2012. I am a member of the Rose Women's Ministry Planning Team and Special Events Team at Faith Family Church, Pastor Stanley L Scott. My hope is that our children become educated, healthy, happy, and successful adults and I count it a blessing to have the privilege to contribute to that process. I am excited about equipping and inspiring our children to be more that they can imagine with the rest of the faculty of Fort Bend ISD.
