    Social Emotional Supports and Instruction Expectations

    The FBISD Learning Framework in the 2020-21 school year begins with a healthy environment and community-building process in which learning can take place in a healthy classroom culture. 

    The District has made resources available for staff to practice the necessary self-care, and teachers and school staff will equip students with the tools they need to, as always, own their own behavior and progress. The department of Social Emotional Learning will support teachers in developing a classroom culture, which includes: 

    • Social Emotional Learning and dispositions tied to the Profile of a Graduate attributes
    • Trauma Informed Classroom
    • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
    • Restorative Practices

    Teacher training will model use of strategies in a virtual environment to build classroom relationships and support a positive classroom environment.

    Available to all staff, students, and parents

    • Professional Learning for leaders, teachers, and staff on building a trauma informed culture 
    • Tiered systems of support to promote development of Profile attributes, wellness, and safe schools
