I am Mrs. Jarisch and I am so excited to welcome another group of fantastic first graders into my classroom at BPE! I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the Barrington Place community. This is my 4th year in 1st grade, my 9th year at BPE and my 11th year to teach. Prior to teaching 1st grade, I taught 3rd grade for two years and 2nd grade for three years here at BPE. Before that, I taught Kindergarten for two years in Victoria ISD.
I graduated from the University of Houston- Victoria in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Education. I have also taken steps towards my next professional goal in life- to become a Professional School Counselor! I graduated in May of 2020 with a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University - Gig 'Em!
My teaching philosophy is that every child can learn and grow where they are and based on who they are. Every child is a unique individual. Children learn differently, develop differently, and have different backgrounds, experiences and needs. It is my job as your child's teacher to discover how your child learns best and what your child's needs are and provide them with appropriate instruction and learning experiences.
On a personal note- I am happily married and have two beautiful children, a 5 year old daughter named Madelyn and a 3 year old son named Ian. I also have two sweet dogs named Lady and Jasper. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, baking, crafting, doing Zumba, exercising, and cheering on Houston teams- Rockets, Astros and Texans!!
