FORT BEND ISD (December 15, 2016) – Elkins High School students representing various clubs and organizations came together to complete a Santa bus tour that visited two nearby elementary schools – Lantern Lane and Quail Valley – to spread holiday cheer.
Elkins counselors Richerica Wolf and Braiyon Sands coordinated the event with input from elementary counselors Mynette Mayes (Lantern Lane) and Jessica Rodriguez (Quail Valley), who identified elementary students who would best benefit from the event and gift donations.
At each campus, the teens formed a human arch and cheered as the youngsters entered the rooms. They also sang holiday songs (such as “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”), and read holiday stories (including Clement Clarke Moore‘s Twas the Night Before Christmas and Mooseltoe by Margie Palatini) to the youngsters before presenting them with gifts.
“The whole purpose of the Santa Bus Tour is to help youngsters celebrate the holiday season, while motivating them to be future Elkins Knights,” said Patrick Schultz, EHS Assistant Principal.
