FORT BEND ISD (February 14, 2017) – Four Fort Bend ISD schools – Palmer Elementary, Bowie and McAuliffe Middle Schools and Travis High School – are competing in the 2016-17 TASB Student Video Contest, sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards.

TASB invited all Texas students at the elementary and secondary levels to enter the contest by submitting short videos (30 seconds to two minutes in length) they created using the theme, “Texas Public Schools Rock!” The purpose of the videos is to share students’ ideas about what makes their schools great. To convey their messages, students were allowed to use live people, still photos and animation.

Winning entries will be named in three categories: elementary, middle/junior and high. The first place winner in each category wins $5,000 and second place, $2,500. There will also be a People’s Choice winner (with no monetary award) based on the selections made by visitors to the TASB website.

You can support our FBISD schools in the People’s Choice contest by visiting the TASB website and viewing the videos. Click here to view all four FBISD videos. The more views a video receives, the greater the chances are of winning. (Videos must be viewed in their entirety, from start to finish, to count toward a vote.) The People’s Choice contest ends on Saturday, February 18.
