During Monday’s meeting, the administration presented its final 2017-18 calendar proposal that we will ask the Board to adopt on March 27.
In February, the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees approved 2017-18 compensation adjustments for teachers and principals, which included a pay increase of at least $2,500 for all teachers.
This week is Texas Public Schools week in Fort Bend ISD, a time when we reflect on the countless lives that are impacted by education… and the tireless work of our more than 10,000 employees who join us in our mission.

I am writing to update you on a public hearing held Monday night, regarding the District of Innovation concept and our next steps toward pursuing the District of Innovation designation for FBISD.

This week has been a particularly busy one within Fort Bend ISD as everyone is preparing for the end-of-year activities, and on Monday, May 16, three separate board meetings were held. I want to share with you some news stemming from those meetings, as well as a few other information items regarding school finance, straight talk on forgery cases, and new leaders in our District. I am writing in regard to questions we are receiving about news reports that the federal Department of Education will soon be sending a letter to schools nationwide providing that Title IX obligates them to ensure that transgender students have access to sports teams, educational opportunities, and sex-segregated facilities, that correspond with their gender identity.
