PRINCIPAL - KEMPNER HIGH SCHOOL

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Improve instruction by assisting in the establishment and maintenance of a safe and orderly environment and by assisting in the direction of the development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and/or revision of instructional standards and programs that best meet the specific needs of a campus student population. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree

• Principal or Mid-Management Certification

• Strong knowledge of instructional program

• Minimum five years successful leadership in public education, preferably as an administrator at the secondary level

JOB GOALS:

Assume responsibility for providing a vision for the instructional program and communicating it to staff, community and parents; serve as liaison between support and service personnel and campus level instructional personnel; implement site-based management; provide staff development activities including teacher evaluation program for campus staff; Prepare and maintain building budget; prepare and maintain master schedule; enforce discipline management policy; coordinate the supervision and evaluation of building personnel, including hiring as appropriate; prepare District, State and Federal reports; coordinate the safe arrival and departure of all students using district or personal transportation; Monitor and assist in instructional programs and curriculum development.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 226 days

SALARY RANGE:

• Pay Grade 29 - Salary according to experience and qualifications
