VISION TEACHER
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provide vision services to students according to their IEP’s, complete vision
evaluations and interpret test results, and participate in ARDs/meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree
-
Teacher certification in Special Education; Vision
endorsement
-
Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Special Education,
preferred
JOB GOALS:
- Provide instruction in the
areas of Braille, low vision efficiency training, technology, optical
devices and keyboarding
- Complete Functional Vision
Evaluations and Learning Media Assessments and be able to interpret test
results and write appropriate interventions plans
- Coordinate and case manage the
instructional needs of students on more than one campus
- Assist school personnel with
understanding the educational needs of the students with visual impairments
- Provide services to students
with additional handicaps in both self-contained and regular classrooms
- Participate in staff conferences and parent meetings
