VISION TEACHER

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provide vision services to students according to their IEP’s, complete vision evaluations and interpret test results, and participate in ARDs/meetings.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Teacher certification in Special Education; Vision endorsement

• Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Special Education, preferred

JOB GOALS:

• Provide instruction in the areas of Braille, low vision efficiency training, technology, optical devices and keyboarding
• Complete Functional Vision Evaluations and Learning Media Assessments and be able to interpret test results and write appropriate interventions plans
• Coordinate and case manage the instructional needs of students on more than one campus
• Assist school personnel with understanding the educational needs of the students with visual impairments
• Provide services to students with additional handicaps in both self-contained and regular classrooms
• Participate in staff conferences and parent meetings

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 187 days

SALARY RANGE:
