PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech and language
disorders in the Fort Bend Independent School District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB GOALS:
Complete diagnostic batteries to determine articulation, voice, fluency, language, and pragmatic disorders
Write reports interpreting testing results and giving recommendations for remediation
Generate therapy plans (IEP goals and objectives) appropriate to individual needs
Participate in staff conferences and parent meetings (ARD), develop intervention plans, interpret test information and collaborate with colleagues and families
Create environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students
Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
