Do I need to fill out more than one online application if, for example, I'm applying for teacher and substitute or teacher and administrator?

Only one application is needed.  You can update the application at any time to let us know that you are interested in a posted position or that you want to substitute.

Once I submit the online application, do I contact you?

No.  We receive many applications per day and work quickly to screen them.  A Human Resource Administrator reviews your application to make sure it is complete.  Once we receive copies of your college transcript(s) and certificate(s), your application is made available to principals/supervisors to view in their online search for applicants in your area of certification.  Principals contact you as they have vacancies on their campus.

My Address/phone number/certification, etc. has changed.  Do you make the changes in my online application?

The beauty of the online application is the applicant's control over any changes.  At any time the applicant can make appropriate changes to update their online application.

Do I need an interview with Human Resources?

Do you interview applicants by phone?

Yes.  If you do not live in the Houston/Sugar Land/Missouri City area, we will gladly conduct a phone interview.  After the interview, we'll notify principals of your interest and plans to visit the area, so that they can contact you to schedule a time for you to visit their campus.

I have an out-of-state certificate.  When should I apply for my Texas certificate?

If you plan to move to Texas, you need to contact SBEC as soon as possible to have your certificate evaluated.  Once you receive the results, you need to take your content area exam.  If hired by Fort Bend ISD, we will reimburse you for the fee you paid SBEC to review your out-of-state certificate.
