DIRECTOR - GIFTED/TALENTED & ACADEMY PROGRAMS (Re-post)


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Directs, manages, and administers the school district’s Gifted and Talented (GT) academies and the GT program, as well as other specialized academy programs in FBISD. The Director of the Gifted and Talented and Academy Programs is responsible for managing efficient and effective delivery of services for Fort Bend ISD schools.  Job responsibilities include developing, planning, evaluating, and directing the implementation of services; administering the department budget; and providing support in the establishment and management of academy programming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB GOALS:

Administers services for students identified as gifted and talented; assists in the establishment and management of district academies; coordinates the activities of staff directly assigned to the department and personnel assigned to programs under the direction of the department; plans, organizes, and directs activities of department staff; interviews and recommends selection of staff; evaluates performance; reviews work assignments; recommends reassignments, transfers and disciplinary action; maintains budgeting and accounting procedures necessary for the operation of the department and programs under the direction of the department; prepares and disseminates reports necessary for planning and evaluation such as the GT annual plan; makes decisions necessary for the effective operation of the department and the academies under the direction of the department.
