GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, serves as a department head of an instructional department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB GOALS:

Performs all teaching tasks required by assignment; conducts department planning sessions; leads in the development of instructional goals and objectives; develops departmental budget requests; orders equipment and supplies; performs mentoring role for teachers new to the building; assists principals in interviewing prospective teachers; serves as liaison between teachers and administration; assists in planning campus staff development needs; participates in the orientation of new teachers; supervises substitutes; maintains teachers’ substitute and current emergency lesson plans; assists in the organization of assemblies, and distribution of students’ progress reports.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 187 days

SALARY RANGE:

• Teacher salary according to experience, plus stipend
