Supervised by school-based administrator, provides administrative secretarial support to the school. Duties include ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the activities of the school by applying knowledge of school system operations, procedures and handling of confidential matters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Proficiency in all general office skills Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in
writing Strong interpersonal skills Must have flexibility with respect to duties Must maintain confidentiality with respect to assignment
JOB GOALS:
Provides clerical support for and serves as personal secretary to one
or more assistant or associate principals; may provide clerical support for
campus police officer; inputs data for master schedule; processes and maintains
discipline referrals and records, notifying parents as prescribed by policy;
assigns detention and processes ISS assignments; prepares “call slips”, checks
attendance sheets for action/s required; processes homework assignments for
long-term absences; supervises student aides; prepares supplemental payroll for
tutors; may serve as substitute for ISS monitor; processes building use
documents; screens supervisor's telephone calls and mail, and personally
responds to those that can be handled at the secretarial level, forwarding the
remaining calls/mail to supervisor with pertinent background material; screens
visitors, responding to inquiries, referring to others as required, and
arranging appointments.
