The state of Texas is providing free state money for teacher aides to use to complete teacher certification. This opportunity is available to aides with one year experience in a Texas public school. The aide must be a certified educational aide with one year of work experience (within the last five (5) years) in a Texas public school to qualify for state aid. If an aide needs to complete freshman or sophomore level work, they may do so through a local community college or a Texas university.
