CAMPUS SECURITY SPECIALIST Job #1376

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position assists school principals in maintaining order, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that safety rules are followed on school grounds.  Incumbent must exercise good judgment in assessing student behavior and handling student disciplinary problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 

• Ability to understand written and oral instructions 

• Ability to communicate and work with others in a positive manner

This position requires the ability to interact and relate to students from a variety of ethnic and social backgrounds.  Incumbent must possess a thorough understanding of school safety and disciplinary rules and regulations.  Incumbent must have good listening, reading, and writing skills.  Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with others.  Incumbent must have the ability to monitor performance/actions of others.  Position will require incumbent to analyze potential situations and apply rules and knowledge to specific problems to produce sensible results.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 184 days

SALARY RANGE:

• Pay Grade 5 - Salary according to experience and qualifications
