GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the general supervision of campus administrator, ability to tutor students with
various ability levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or GED equivalent
Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college
Strong math and science background: ability to tutor Alg. 1, Geometry, Alg. 2, Pre-Cal and/or IPC, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Able to work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
JOB GOALS:
Take an active part in developing the academic and personal strength of AVID
students; actively convey and reinforce the AVID strategies of Writing, Inquiry,
Collaboration, and Reading (WIC-R); understand and utilize the tutorial and
inquiry learning process within the AVID classroom; serve as role models to AVID
students by being successful college students; assist AVID students in taking
Cornell Notes, completing tutorial request forms, and evaluating student
binders; assist and provide support for the AVID Elective Teacher in the
tutorial setting; be positive, professional, on time, and communicate with the
AVID Elective Teacher.
