GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under direct supervision, a Cafeteria Substitute is responsible for preparing appropriate quantities of food to meet the menu requirements and maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.  Promotes an atmosphere, which reflects efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to read, write and understand verbal instructions in English

• Working knowledge in the use and care of kitchen equipment

• Working knowledge of food production techniques

• Working knowledge of good sanitation and safety practices

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Department may find appropriate and acceptable

• Past food service experience, preferred

JOB GOALS:

Prepares quality food according to a planned menu using tested or standardized recipes; receives and is responsible for the storage and care of food items and supplies; maintains a clean and organized storage area; demonstrates knowledge and follows manufacturer guidelines for care and use of equipment; maintains sanitary working conditions to eliminate contamination; Meets all scheduled meal time, portions, and serves the food as per departmental policies and procedures.

SALARY RANGE:

• Hourly rate - $8.09
