MASTER PLUMBER Job #1822

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs a variety of skilled, master-level plumbing tasks in the installation, modification, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems in school district buildings and facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Master Plumber License
• Back Flow Prevention Certificate
• Considerable working experience as a master plumber, including some commercial experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the previous noted knowledge, skill, and ability.

JOB GOALS:

Performs skilled plumbing work at the master level; installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, urinals, showers, drinking fountains, icemakers, and water heaters; installs and tests back flow preventors; maintains and repairs sprinkler systems; cuts, reams, threads, solders, glues and connects metal, copper and plastic pipes and fittings; replaces defective fixtures, regulators, controls, traps, valves, faucets, washers and gaskets; installs water, gas and sewer lines; tests for, locates and repairs leaks in water, gas and sewer lines; opens clogged drains, traps and fixtures; performs tests on  gas appliances; reviews work orders and building plans; procures materials and supplies.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 261 days

SALARY RANGE:

• Pay Grade 50 - Salary according to experience and qualifications
