Back To School Golf Scramble
2009 Back to School Scramble a huge success!
The ninth annual Fort Bend Education Foundation Back to School Scramble golf tournament was held on August 24, 2009 at Sweetwater Country Club. Schlumberger and Sweetwater Country club presented the “Back to School Scramble” chaired by Ron Bailey and Rod Nelson.
Thanks to the generosity of this year’s participants, the event netted more than $94,000.00 for the Fort Bend Education Foundation. The 264 golfers that attended the tournament enjoyed lunch from Chick-fil-A and an awards banquet at the end of the day. The tournament low gross champion team consisted of Tom Dillingham, Taylor Dillingham, Lance Hindt, and Richard Barbles.
The Foundation provides the equivalent of research and development in public schools, supporting innovation and creative education throughout FBISD. Programs include; Grants for Teachers and Schools, Grants for Experts and Angel Gifts.
Last year the Foundation awarded $254,000 through its grants to teachers and schools programs. Since inception in 1992, the Education Foundation has awarded over $2.5 million to FBISD teachers and schools. |
