Help the Fort Bend Education Foundation win up to $5,000 in the “Charity Challenge!
Calling all supporters! Have a fun, healthy time while you help Fort Bend Education Foundation win up to $5,000 in the Charity Challenge, part of the TelfairLife Charity of Your Choice Walk taking place Saturday, April 10 in Telfair.
Prizes of $5,000, $3,000 and $1,500 will be awarded to the top three charities with the most registered walkers, and of course we want to win the big prize! In addition, we will also receive 100 percent of the proceeds from registration fees when you select us as your charity of choice.
Competition is great, and we’re competing with 13 other excellent Fort Bend charities for these three top prizes. Let’s show everyone that the Fort Bend Education Foundation has the most loyal and dedicated supporters in the region!
In its first two years, this terrific event has raised over $100,000 for the participating charities. Telfair Life hopes to set a new record in 2010, and let’s help them (and ourselves) by signing up more walkers than any other nonprofit!
Act soon! Registration fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children until March 31, and $30 for adults and $15 for children after that. Registration is now available at www.CharityofYourChoiceWalk.com. Please note that while registration is available up to the morning of the event, registrations must be completed by April 6 in order to count toward our challenge total.
The Charity of Your Choice Walk will take place rain or shine at Telfair Central Lawn, located in front of the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land in Telfair. The event will both begin and end at this location, which is along University Blvd.
Registration and check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the walk will start at 9:00 a.m., taking a scenic route around the community’s 70-acre central lake and park system. The event will culminate with a post-walk party at 10:30 a.m., featuring family-friendly activities such as clowns, inflatable games, a bungee run and rock-climbing wall, popcorn and snowcones.
City of Sugar Land Councilwoman Jacquie Chaumette will again serve as the master of ceremonies.
TelfairLife is funded and operated by Telfair homeowners to support social, cultural, charitable, environmental and educational endeavors in Telfair and the surrounding Fort Bend community.
