New Employee Orientation (NEO)

New Employee Orientation provides new employees with a better understanding of the District’s mission, vision, and history.  Emphasis is placed on providing excellent customer service.

New Teacher Orientation (NTO)

New teachers to Fort Bend ISD receive a district orientation focused on New Employee Orientation, CHAMPs, Differentiated Instruction, District Initiatives, Instructional Strategies, and Educational Technology.

Project INVEST

A year-long induction program for novice teachers with 0 years experience to ease their transition into teaching, improve teacher effectiveness and increase teacher retention.

National Board Certification (NBC)

Fort Bend ISD assists teachers who undergo this professional development opportunity to evaluate their teaching practice through performance-based assessments and reflective practices.

Professional Development Gold Standard (PDGS)

Provides instructional classroom teachers with a learning plan and guidelines to ensure all teachers have common core knowledge and skills specific to their teaching assignment.

Leadership Development

Leadership Institute (LI)

The department of organizational development creates and supports opportunities for effective, sustainable professional learning and development to build capacity and promote growth.

University Partnerships

Fort Bend ISD partners with universities to provide opportunities for District employees to pursue graduate studies in areas such as Educational Leadership, Counselor Education, Library Science, and Curriculum and Instruction with Specialization in Technology.

Grants

District employees are encouraged to seek grant funding. Refer to the Grant Decision Matrix to ensure alignment with the District Strategic Plan and the Campus or Departmental Improvement Plan and complete the Fort Bend ISD Intent to Apply form prior to applying for grant opportunities.

Junior Achievement (JA)

Junior Achievement and Fort Bend ISD have partnered to provide opportunities for students to learn about financial literacy through a variety of JA Programs in the elementary, middle, and high schools
