State Ratings

The Texas Education Agency assigns ratings to campuses and districts in Texas and releases them to the public on August 1st. The possible ratings are Academically Unacceptable, Academically Acceptable, Recognized, and Exemplary.

Accreditation Status

The Texas Education Agency announced accreditation statuses for all Texas school districts and charter schools on March 1, 2012, and Fort Bend ISD earned full accreditation status. The accreditation system examines both the financial and academic health of districts and charter schools. It also examines performance in other areas such as data reporting, special program effectiveness, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Under the accreditation system, ratings of Accredited, Accredited-Warned, Accredited-Probation or Not Accredited-Revoked are issued. The status of a district or charter can be listed as pending if an investigation is under way. More information on the TEA accreditation system is available on the TEA website.

Gold Performance Acknowledgements

The TEA awarded Fort Bend ISD Gold Performance Acknowledgements (GPAs) in the following four areas for 2011: Attendance, College Ready, Commended Social Studies, and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) in math. For 2009, we received recognition in Commended Social Studies. For 2010, FBISD received recognition in the following three areas: Commended Social Studies, Attendance, and College-Ready.

As a group, our campuses earned a total of 226 GPAs, an increase of 21 from last year. Significant increases in the number of campuses receiving recognition can be viewed on the Campus Gold Performance Acknowledgement chart.

The Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Report

The AEIS report contains the current and historical performance on the AEIS indicators for Fort Bend ISD and each of the campuses in the district. Also included for each campus is the performance of a comparison group of campuses with similar demographic characteristics and performance of the state as a whole. As required by statute, the information must be published and disseminated to the public. A copy of this report is located on every campus and in each public library in Fort Bend County. The most recent full report (for the 2010-11 school year) is accessible in PDF format via the links below:
