Academies are personalized, small learning communities that function within a larger high school with a mixture of career and academic classes offered to students. Enrollment of approximately 400 students is eventually anticipated for each academy.
Students attending academies generally take more advanced courses in their areas of specialization and have the opportunity to earn college credit.
High School Academy Applications
Application for FBISD’s high school academies
The application deadline was December 9 and notification letters were mailed to applicants at the end of January. The application process has reopened. New applications must be completed and submitted electronically by the February 24, 2012 deadline.
Students will be able to access a saved application that was not submitted in December.
Middle School Academy Applications
Applications for FBISD’s middle school academies are now available. Applications should be completed and submitted electronically by the February 24, 2012 deadline.
As a convenience to students and teachers, the Teacher Recommendation Form is available online as part of the electronic application. Students no longer need to request the application or teacher recommendation forms from their middle school counselor.
