Curriculum Resources

  • TEKSTAR TEKStar is a CD-ROM relational database of lessons covering 55 courses and grade levels with more than 635 lessons and 200 activities in K-12 English Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The database includes all TEKS and targets the student expectation level. All lessons are correlated to critical thinking skills, multiple intelligences, learning styles, TAAS objectives, and End of Course objectives. The software includes clips of student activities to help explain teaching strategies.

    Training on the TEKStar is available on each campus from the ITS, as well as the curriculum writers, and the academic department heads. TEKStar is available on the network.
  • STATE SELECTED TEXTBOOKS AND MATERIALS State and district materials are identified for each course. Fort Bend ISD has textbook selection procedures for the selection of state adopted materials. The procedures allow for all teachers of the course or subject to be involved in the selection of materials that are used district-wide. Copies of the textbook procedures may be obtained from the Curriculum Department.
  • TEACHER INTERNET RESOURCES The Teacher Internet Resources includes intra-district pages, subject specific sites, teaching with the Internet and creating web pages. Under the intra-district pages, learn more about operation D.U.N.K., the FBISD Math Channel, Character Education Activities, and the FBISD Virtual History Museum and Gallery.
  • EDUCATIONAL INTERNET RESOURCES General education materials have been identified for teachers, especially great web sites for teacher planning. The site is arranged by subject areas that include math, science, language arts, social studies and fine arts.
