What we do?

  • Our Child Nutrition staff serves breakfast and lunch daily to over 61,000 students, totaling over 1 million breakfasts and 6.4 million lunches annually.
  • The Child Nutrition Department has 470 employees, each committed to the single task of feeding students. The Department collectively manages the operation of the following:
    • The USDA Federal Program which includes the Free and Reduced meal program.
    • The Nutrition Education Program
    • The Procurement Program for food/equipment
    • The Staff Development Programs that enhance the professional skills of all Child Nutrition employees.
