Welcome to AutoCAD I & II Prerequisites: Architecture or Engineering Graphics for AutoCAD I; and AutoCAD I for AutoCAD II These courses cover the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced components of computer aided drafting (CAD) using the latest Autodesk AutoCAD software. After learning the Command Structure of AutoCAD, students will translate designs into working 2D, 3D and wire frame drawings using AutoCAD. Students will develop technical skills that are directly related to Architecture, and Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Engineering. These courses develop comprehensive skills through projects developed at an industry level and prepares students for entry-level employment in the drafting/design profession. Also these skills will relate directly to university requirements should the student decide to acquire a degree. Students will possibly have the opportunity to either "job shadow", intern, or have a paid position with an employer depending on the dictates of the industry marketplace. Students will take an industry recognized Certification Test at year’s end equivalent to one year’s work experience. This course is taught at the Technical Education Center. Transportation is provided. An application is required. The course # for Computer Aided Drafting I is CJ4321 & CJ4322 The course # for Computer Aided Drafting II is CJ4421 & CJ4422 This class meets 2 periods each day.
