Welcome to Metal Trades I & II
Metal Trades I (10-12) This course will cover all aspects of oxyacetylene welding, arc-welding, measuring, bench work, power saws, drill presses and grinders. Special emphasis is placed on modern methods. Students will prepare for post-secondary training; practice leadership and successful employment skills; learn safe-work practices: and work toward business related management skills. Metal Trades II (11-12) Prerequisite: Metal Trades I This course is designed to provide skills in the operation of lathes, milling machines, and numerical control machines. Students will be required to demonstrate competency in solving advanced shop mathematical problems and shop drawings. Students will prepare for post-secondary training; practice leadership and successful employment skills; learn safe-work practices: and work toward business management skills. Upon completion of Metal Trades II, students will qualify for testing/certification in G Code 1&2 by the American Welding Association. Costs include $50.00 for the Welding Certification Test and optional SkillsUSA dues of $25.00. The course # for Metal Trades I is CJ7231 & CJ7232
