COMPUTER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I (Grade 10-12) 2 Hour/Credit Course CT3131/CT3132 Prerequisites: Technology Systems or Electricity/Electronics. The course explains the theory behind trouble shooting of computers and their operating systems. The exploration includes an intricate study of the workings of computer hardware, the configuration, maintenance, repair and operation of systems. Activities will include the actual diagnosis, repair, and configuration of computers, as well as the building and assembly of a computer. The course will focus on and prepare students for taking the A+ Certification exam. The certification is a requirement before other higher computer certification can be obtained. A+ certification has become a requirement of workers currently employed and those seeking employment in the instructional technology industry and is a requirement before pursuing other higher certifications.
