Veterans' Day Events
|
|
The Sartartia Junior Historians will be sponsoring three assemblies to honor our Veterans on Wednesday, November 11th: 1st Period-6th grade; 2nd Period-7th grade; 3rd Period-8th grade. The band, orchestra, and choir will be performing for all three programs. Please invite any veterans you may know to our assemblies. The PAL students are coordinating a collection effort for the troops who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Social Studies teachers will be collecting the items from the students. 6th graders are asked to bring single-serve drink mixes. 7th graders will be bringing snack items. 8th graders will bring baby wipes or travel-sized personal hygiene products. The final collection day is on Veteran’s Day, November 11th. We will be capping off the event by wearing camouflage on Veteran’s Day. These care packages are being collected and distributed by Houston Marine Moms and will be sent to former FBISD students who are serving overseas. In order to offset the delivery cost, the group is asking that each teacher contribute $5. This is a great opportunity for our middle school students to think about others. Your support is greatly appreciated!
