ATTENTION PARENTS of INCOMING 7TH GRADERS!!
|
|
On February 27, 2009, the Texas Legislature passed several revisions to the Texas Administrative Code. The Executive Commissioner on Health and Human Services approved these changes to the Immunization Requirements for Children and Students in Texas Public and Private Schools. All sixth grade students who will be entering seventh grade in the school year 2009-2010 will be required to show proof of having received the following three vaccines: 1. The Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis) 2. The meningococcal vaccine 3. A second varicella vaccine (As in the past, a written statement from the parent or legal guardian or physician documenting a child’s positive history of varicella disease (chickenpox) is acceptable in lieu of either dose of varicella vaccine.)
