The Fort Bend ISD Extended Day is a program that offers both before and after school child care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program is in operation at all of the district's elementary schools and operates from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is in operation on all school days, most staff development days, and from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during spring break. There is a $25 registration fee and tuition is $180 a month. August and December tuition is prorated to $90. Morning only fees are $60 per month per child, and morning only fees do not apply to the summer. Children are provided a snack, assisted with homework, and offered developmentally appropriate activities with a thematic approach as part of the program. Character development is encouraged through community service projects. The mission of the program is to provide a safe, secure, and happy environment that communicates clearly with parents. During the summer, the program operates from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from the last day of school until the beginning of August for a $35 registration fee (summer t-shirt included) and $180 every two weeks.
