What we are learning………
Science- we will be starting our hands-on kit of the butterfly life cycle. The students will receive caterpillars to watch and record their daily changes.
Math-patterns, ordering and comparing numbers to 99.
ELA- reading patterned text, word families, short vowels.
More 1st Grade News!.....
• We have 3 new first grade teachers: Ms. Harris, Mrs. Staes, and Mrs. Llagostera.
• We are collecting Box Tops again this year. Don’t forget to clip them and send them to your child’s teacher
• Homework packets start the week of Sept. 14th
• Mark your calendar for Parent Conferences, October 15, 2009
Reading tip …….....
Something to talk about. Reading doesn’t have to stop when you put the book down. Talk to your child about books you’ve read and books you think he or she might enjoy.
