Description

Campus Improvement Specialist Mission:

My experiences in data analysis has brought me to Fort Bend ISD as the Campus Improvement Specialist (CIS) at Ridgemont Elementary. My focus is to be an informative support for the principal and faculty, with all efforts leading towards students’ academic success. Identifying educational gaps within the student population with a plan for concentration and improvement is the primary goal.

State, district, and school assessments exams have been indicators of how well our students are rising to an optimal mastery level within every grade level. Teachers are sharing with each other techniques, tools, and strategies to better these results. Ridgemont Elementary is a dedicated Professional Learning Community (PLC) of educators, who believe in making every day count and helping every student learn.

Parents are encouraged to get involved with their children’s school work; and to communicate to the principal, teachers, or me any questions regarding their child’s academic performance, available school educational programs, or school activities. I can be reached at 281-634-4880, extension 7699.

Professional Experiences:

After my initial college education in December, 1984, I spent five years in the banking industry as a corporate trainer of the installment loan data processing systems, teller training, customer service training, and as a user bank system conversion specialist.

I transitioned into education in 1995 with an emergency Career and Technology (CATE) teaching certification for Seguin Independent School District, completing my coursework and training at SWT in 1997. For nine years, I served as the Marketing Education instructor and DECA [An Association of Marketing Students] advisor. In the nine years at SISD, I qualified students from district DECA competition to state DECA competition each year. I qualified students from state DECA competition to national/international DECA competition five different years. My marketing management students operated the school store and other school enterprises.

While a teacher at Seguin ISD, I was also an owner and director of a private modeling school for two years. This school was a member of an international franchise.

Upon completion of my EMBA, I later spent several years with Career Point Institute which operates post-secondary proprietary schools in Texas and Oklahoma. This accredited school grants diplomas for careers in the medical, business, and technology industries. I began as the business and technology division director in Texas and later became the school director in Oklahoma.
