Hello and welcome to my Bio Page! My name is Ms. Danielle Porter. I am so happy that you stopped by my site. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. First of all, I graduated with honors from the Sam Houston State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology in 2003. I began teaching seventh grade Mathematics at Park View Intermediate School in Pasadena ISD where I earned my Alternative Certification in Education. I remained at Park View teaching Math and coaching the cheerleading and pep squad for three years. My career in Fort Bend I.S.D. began in the fall of 2007 right here Ridgemont Elementary, where I taught fifth grade Math and Science for two years, prior to being promoted to the campus Science Specialist. This school year marks my 6th year of teaching! I am currently working to attain my Masters of Education in Administration and will complete my program in May 2010. I absolutely LOVE Science and working with young learners, as they discover and explore the world around them through inquiry based instruction! When I am not teaching I enjoy doing things with my family, reading, traveling, scrapebooking, and shopping! To all of you parents out there...THANK YOU for allowing me the privilege of working with your child this year. As we become partners in your child's life for this short school year, let's work as a team to make this one of the BEST experiences ever. Together, we can help your child develop a genuine love of learning, Science and a strong educational foundation for the years to come! Please take a peek at some of my favorite educational links that can aid in your child's understanding of science.
