Description

Welcome to the PHS Clinic website. Our goal is to promote a safe and healthy school environment to all students and staff. We follow the FBISD policy for the administration of medications, and exclusion for illness. Please remember that it is in the best interest of your child, their teachers and classmates that they remain at home when they are ill. Your student cannot remain in school if they exhibit the following symptoms:

- a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher

- a suspected or contagious disease

- vomiting or diarrhea

- an undetermined rash

- feeling too ill to remain at school.

If your child does require time off for illness, just provide a note, explaining the absence, to the attendance office upon their return. Doctor/Dentist appointments will be considered an excused absence when the child turns in documentation of the appointment. This applies to appointments for court and visits to a probation officer as well.

All medications must be brought to school by the parent or guardian, and any remaining medication must also be picked up in the same manner. Students are not permitted to carry medication to or from school. Asthma inhalers are the exception only if the doctor has given written permission for the student to carry the inhaler. Please provide us with a copy of the note. A parent note must accompany all medication to be given. Your home school nurse can fax a copy of any doctor’s note that you have already provided.

We would encourage you to provide updated health information for your student, as well as good contact numbers, so that we can provide good comprehensive care and reach you in the event of illness or injury. Your student’s well-being is our primary concern. A healthy, well-rested student is better able to learn, interact well with peers and adults, and will be much better equipped to deal with academic pressures and other stressful events in their lives. We hope to help your student complete their assignment here at MRW in a timely manner, learn from the experience and return to their home campus and friends, ready to make a fresh start. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or stop by for a visit. You are always welcome,
