The Progressive High School Library is open every day between 7:30 and 3:20, with the exception of lunch. The Library is open during lunch between 10:50 and 11:15 on Tuesday and Thursday, and other days as needed. Students may use the library computers or other library resources with a pass from teachers during regular library hours but no pass is needed during other open time slots. Up to 3 books may be checked out for a two week period. Magazines may checked out over night and reference materials may be checked out for one block. The Newsletter staff meets in the library every Wednesday during lunch. See Ms. Lovelace, Mr. Haught, Mrs. Johnson, or Mrs. Verdone for info on joining our staff. Also, we are always looking for someone to review books or movies for the newsletter or to be read on the morning announcements. The Book Club also meets periodically in the library at lunch to enjoy pizza as the current book selection is discussed. See Ms. Lovelace, Mr. Haught, or Mrs. Verdone for the next scheduled meeting. Check out the displays in the library and in the main display case in the hallway outside of the library! You'll find lots of great information and fun there! If you want to check out an item on display, just ask Ms. Lovelace. Don't see what you want in the library? Ms. Lovelace has a suggestion jar on the counter! Please recommend books, magazine subscriptions, or services you would like to see added to your library! This is Ms. Lovelace's third year at Progressive. A veteran teacher with 25 years experience (16 of those as a librarian), she has a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in English. She taught high school and middle school English and French, became a librarian at a K-8 school, and served as an elementary librarian for 8 years in Fort Bend ISD. Ms. Lovelace has two grown sons.
