Welcome to the Pecan Grove Elementary clinic website. The school clinic is available to both the students and staff. The program is designed to assure a safe, healthy environment that is conducive to learning and provide professional care for those who become ill or injured while at school. Parents and teachers are encouraged to contact our nurse, Diana Barton, and/or her clinic assistant, Tricia Lutz, regarding any health conditions or problems affecting your students. With this information we can better serve the students to promote or improve his/her health and/or reduce lost time from the classroom. School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to foster the family’s capacity for adaptation, self-management, self advocacy, and learning. (For additional clinic/health information please check out the resources page)
