Third grade has started off at a fast pace this year. The students already have their Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop notebooks and activities under way. In math they have completed their unit on numeration. Next they will be strengthening their mental math skills of addition through the use of the hundreds chart, rounding, and estimation. In social studies we are focusing on all the ins and outs of communities. Beware - your student may encourage you to clean out your flower beds and plant something new for the fall now that we are starting our plant kit in science. We look forward to a knowledge filled third grade year!
