My name is Shelly Puckett and I am the librarian at Meadows Elementary. I am not a native Texan, but I came here as soon as I could! I am originally from Oklahoma (go Sooners!) but am now a Texan through and through. I have a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master’s degree in Information Science. I taught kindergarten here at the Meadows for seven years before becoming Librarian four years ago. I have been married for nineteen years and have three daughters. All of them have attended school here and are intelligent, well-rounded young ladies. My experiences here at Meadows as both a parent and an educator give me great confidence in saying that this school is top notch and unlike any other. I am proud to be a part of the Meadows team! Kay Mayne - Library Assistant This is my twelfth year at Meadows and I’m very happy to be part of such a wonderful school. I was born in Garden City, Kansas during a January blizzard. I think that’s why I like cold weather. As a child I lived in many places and attended twelve schools by the time I was thirteen. Sugar Land became my home in 1962 when I moved here from Old Hickory, Tennessee. I have two grown children and two grandchildren who love for me to read them their favorite stories. Things I enjoy are spending time with family and friends, volunteering at Church, reading, gardening, walking my dogs, riding horses and most anything outside.
