Welcome to Girls PE
Eighth grade students may earn one-half high school physical education academic credit by enrolling in and successfully completing Foundations of Personal Education, a required course for graduation from high school for those not using substitution courses (athletics, band, ROTC, etc) in high school. This course counts as high school academic credit and high school grade points. The basic purpose for this course is to motivate students to strive for lifetime personal fitness with an emphasis on the health-related components of physical fitness. The knowledge and skills taught in this course include teaching students about the process of becoming fit as well as achieving some degree of fitness within the class. Students will design their own personal fitness program. Students not enrolled in Foundations of Personal Fitness will be enrolled in 2 semesters of 8th grade Physical Education. 1/2 unit of High School Credit (1 semester)
