The National Junior Honor Society was created to recognize and encourage scholarship, while also developing character, service, citizenship, and leadership. Members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection and isboth and honor and a commitment. During the year, NJHS students sponsor and lead the LOMS team in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual "Walk for the Cure," treat the faculty to an appreciation breakfast in November, collect canned food and other non-perishables for a fall donation to the local food banks, sell carnations at Valentine's day, and participate in several other service activities for the community. Members are selected during the spring semester.
