Welcome to Instructional Technologist Specialist

Lantern Lane Elementary School has one computer lab with 25 computers that is being used at least once a week by each class in the school. Teachers has the opportunity to introduce the students to the wonderful world of technology and since last year we have received some updates such as a ceiling projector which allow the display of the information to teach to the students in a big screen.
Students attend the computer lab to work in a diverse variety of activities involving the use of different software and teaching strategies. Teachers can select from web based software for Math, Science, etc acquired by the School or the different District Departments. Also there is a variety of computer based software such as Microsoft Office, multimedia, writing, and many more that will cover all the different subjects of the state curricula.
Online software such as EasyTech (www.learning.com) is the based curricula provided by the district to help our students to acquire the basic computer skills needed for more complex activities and projects. Every fifth grade student takes a test called Technology Literacy Assessment at the end of the year to determine her/his technology skills. These results are used to plan and work in any needed improvement for the following year, to follow our main goal of preparing our students for this the XXI Century.
