Welcome to the Lantern Lane Clinic webpage. The school clinic is available to both the students and staff. We are here to help assure a safe, healthy environment that is conducive to learning and provide professional care for those who become ill or injured while at school.
Parents and teachers are encouraged to contact our new nurse, Laura Lynn Vollmer R.N., and/or her clinic assistant, Teresa Pesek, regarding any health conditions or problems affecting your students. With this information we can better serve the students to promote or improve his/her health and/or reduce lost time from the classroom.
School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that promotes the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. Therefore, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to foster the family’s capacity for adaptation, self-management, self advocacy, and learning.
