Welcome Back!!!
We are excited to meet all of our new third graders at Meet the Teacher Night on August 20th. This is a great time to meet your child’s new teachers, and to drop off their school supplies.
Third grade is a year full of new and exciting experiences, and we have been working hard to plan a wonderful year.
We will start off the year with the following:
Math – place value, addition, subtraction, problem solving, logic, and graphing
Reading – getting to know the different types of genres, vocabulary, independent reading, and strategies to improve reading comprehension
Language – parts of speech and writing in various forms
Social Studies – communities
Science – solar system
We have a block schedule in third grade. This means that your child will have one teacher for Math, Science and Health, and then switch classes to meet with their Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies teacher.

Ms. Cole – Self Contained (All Subjects)
