The role of the Reading Specialist in FBISD is to promote literacy opportunities for students, teachers, and parents in a way that emphasizes appropriate instruction which targets students who have difficulty reading, writing, and spelling, especially 504 dyslexic students, so that all students will be successful life-long learners.
 
My name is Mrs. Loftin. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a reading specialization from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. This is my twenty-sixth year teaching.
