Welcome to the clinic at Highlands Elementary school!
 
My name is Jody Stiver and I have been the nurse at Highlands for more years than all of your children are old! This is my 15th year in this position. I am originally from Minnesota, but my husband and I have lived in the Houston area since 1981. My two daughters were both Highlands Scotties, and both are graduates of Dulles High School. If you have any general parenting questions, I will be glad to share my experiences- just ask!
 
Marilyn Wood has moved from the front office to the clinic and counselor assistant position. She will be in the clinic every day to assist with clerical tasks as well as provide care for the children when I am in the classroom, a meeting or conducting screenings. She and her husband reside in Sugar Land along with their two teenage sons. She has been the “backup” for the clinic for years, so this new move will be a smooth one for all of us!
 
I feel the nurse’s mission is to support student learning and success by facilitating a healthy and safe environment at Highlands Elementary School in which children spend maximum time in the classroom. This will be achieved by providing wellness promotion; conducting screenings with appropriate referrals for care; administering first aid and care for acute illnesses, as well as continuing care for chronic health concerns; and serving as a community resource and advocate for the needs of our children and their families.
