Welcome to Health/Wellness

EIGHTH GRADE HEALTH EDUCATION
This is a high school semester course that is being offered as an option to 8th grade students. High school credit will be awarded and grade points will be computed accordingly. The goal of health education is for students to demonstrate an understanding of the components of personal wellness. The health education curriculum is designed to help adolescents develop knowledge, attitudes and skills to make responsible decisions and act in ways that prevent disease and reduce health related risk behaviors. The curriculum included content in the areas of alcohol/drug abuse prevention skills, safety and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), human growth and development, personal and social development, nutrition and diet control, fitness and mental health and communicable and non-communicable diseases.
 
SIXTH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION / HEALTH
The middle school physical education program offers a variety of activities to enhance the physical and social development of each student. The activities include physical fitness, aerobics, team sports, and individual, dual and lifetime activities. In the six week's health course, students learn about growing and changing, making healthy choices and decisions, environmental safety, and physical fitness.
