Welcome to English Language Arts

In grade 8, students refine and master previously
learned reading, writing, listening, speaking,
viewing and representing skills in increasingly
complex presentations, reading selections, and
written compositions. Eighth grade students continue
to read widely in classic and contemporary
selections and informational texts. Students select
and use different forms of writing for specific
purposes. Students produce multi-paragraph compositions
with varied sentence structure and use
their knowledge of grammar and usage, spelling,
punctuation, and capitalization to improve their
writing and produce error-free compositions on a
regular basis. Students write research reports and
present oral and written reports using visuals and
media.
